Munnar

Munnar had been the favored summer resort of the British during the Colonial rule. Located at an altitude of 6000 ft in the Idukki district, Munnar has a brilliant expanse of tea plantations, deep green valleys and mountains and exotic varieties of flora and fauna.

Some interesting tourist spots in Munnar would be Mattupetty lake and dam that is an ideal picnic spot. Pothamedu is known for its breathtaking mountain trails and trekking, offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. Be sure to visit the Eravikulam National Park located about 15 kilometers away from Munnar. This park is home to the Nilgiri Tahr.
