Jaipur

The Pink city of India, Jaipur is Rajasthan’s vibrant city. Named the Pink city because of the color of the stone used in the walled city, Jaipur is a widely visited tourist destination. Jaipur’s bazaars are world famous, known to sell everything from embroidered leather shoes, tie and die material, jewelry and lots lots more.

Located in the heart of the Thar Desert, Jaipur gardens are extremely beautiful. There also are lots of towering forts that are dotted all over the city; some of which being the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and Amber Fort. The unusual, though highly interesting fairs and festivals of Jaipur brings the colorful city to life. The Elephant festival, Diwali, Teej festival, Kite festival and Gangaur festival are widely popular in the city. Gangaur is possibly Jaipur’s most important festival where women of the town worship the Hindu deities’ lord Shiva and Parvati during this festival.
