The English name Singapore in comes from Malay translation of Singapura, or “Lion-city”, Singapore is a microstate and the smallest nation in Southeast Asia. Largely populated by Chinese, Malays, Indians, Singapore’s culture would seem familiar to most Indians visiting the country.
