Gurgaon

Derived from the name ‘Guru-Gram’, a legend states that Gurgaon the city was an ancestral village that was presented by Kauravas and Pandavas to their guru Dronacharya. Now a part of India’s capital Delhi, Gurgaon is considered to be one of Delhi’s most important cities thank to the growth in Information Technology (IT).

Largely a commercial city, Gurgaon has a sizeable number of tourist spots. The Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary for example, is home to over 100 species of birds. The city is also famous for its Sheetala Devi Temple also known as ‘Shakti Peeth’. For those interested in a bit of ‘mall culture’ Gurgaon is the place to be for all those shop-a-holics as it is Gurgaon that has been given the name of being ‘the Mall Capital of India’.
