Tirupati

An ancient sacred religious place for the Hindus, Tirupati is named after the Goddess Lakshmi or the Goddess of Wealth. Amongst the tourist attractions in Tirupati, the temple of Sri Venkateswara has a brilliant idol of the Lord of the Seven Hills and is situated in the main temple complex of Tirumala. The Sri Anjaneyaswami Temple is located on the northeastern banks of the Swami Pushkarini. Another temple of Swami Pushkarini, is believed to be a pleasure tank of Lord Vishnu in Vaikuntham. A dip in the Swami Pushkarini is believed to cleanse a pilgrim of his sins.
