Punjab

Punjab is best known for its cuisine, colorful traditions and history. Home to some of the religiously rich places in India, Punjab has a lot to offer to a visitor. The palaces of the royal Punjabis, shrines, historic battle sites and examples of Sikh architecture are some excellent tourist attractions. Of course visiting Punjab means immersing yourself in the unique tastes of the Punjabi cuisine.

Punjab has no derth of historic architechture. Some of the must see historical forts are Gobindgarh Fort Amritsar, Ancient Fort at Bathinda, in Bathinda, Faridkot Fort and Keshgarh Fortamongst many others. Punjab is a haven for the religious traveler. It is home to the most religious place for the Sikh – The Golden Temple at Amritsar and the Kali Devi Temple at Patiala. The Jallianwalabagh at Amritsar is a symbol of India’s independence struggle against the British and is now a popular tourist spot.
