Kashmir

According to an ancient mythological legend, a great sage by the name Kashyap drained a lake to make place for a group of Brahmins to stay. This place is now known to us as Kashmir. Kashmir is known to be the highest learning centre of Sanskrit and Persian thanks to the origination and flourishing of the Indo-Aryanic civilization. Kashmir is what can be called the closest thing to Paradise on Earth.

The Kashmir valley is not only a natural delight but the view of the regal Himalayan mountain range is just breathtaking. Lush gardens with flowers growing in a riot of colors, sparkling glassy rivers and Chinar trees is what’s earned Kashmir the name of being the ‘Switzerland or the East’. A notable attraction in Kashmir would be its beautiful house boats. There’s a variety if house boats to choose from with the most lavish ones (Firdaus) having a living room, 2 master bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with running hot and cold water. Another enchanting site to see are the floating vegetable gardens called Shikaras on the Dal Lake. Expect to be enchanted by the untouched beauty and serenity of the Kashmir from the moment you enter to the time you leave.
