Jodhpur

The second largest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur is famous for its brilliant forts and palaces. A must see spot in Jodhpur is the Mehrangarh Fort located in the heart of the city. Built by Maharaja Man Singh, it is a classified ‘must see’ in any Jodhpur Sightseeing trip.

A standing testimony of the military might of the Rajputs, the fort’s strategically located cannons on the walls, large area and altitude of 125 meters attracts over thousands of tourists every year. This fort also offers the visitor a spectacular bird’s eye view of the city. Giridkot and Sardar Market are two markets in Jodhpur famous for its handicrafts and textiles. If you’re visiting the city during the time of its Marwar festival, be sure to be fascinated. A two-day program of fun, folk music, folk dance and folklore, this festival attracts visitors by the hoards. Nagpanchami, the festival to worship the king of the serpents, is also celebrated with equal enthusiasm.
