Chennai

Chennai is India’s third most visited city by foreigners after Delhi and Mumbai. Chennai’s beaches are one of India’s finest, with the Marina Beach attracting tourists with its golden sandy shores, Light house, memorials and walkways. The Elliot’s Beach is another popular tourist spot attracting a lot of the younger crowd. If you’re looking to visit some British era monuments, make sure that you don’t miss Fort St. George (One of India’s first British fortresses).

Chennai’s most important tourist attraction is actually in the neighbouring town of Mahabalipuram. This locale has beautiful ancient temples and rock carvings of the 7th century Pallava kingdom. If you’re looking to visit places of religious belief, The Vadapalani temple, St. Thomas Mount and The Thousand Lights Mosque are important religious locations for the Hindu, Christian and Muslim religions.
