Agra
The home town of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Agra is a delightful place to visit. A city in Uttar Pradesh, Agra is situated by the banks of the river Yamuna. In the era of kings and sultans, Agra was founded in the year 1504 by the Ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. The city passed hands through the rule of many a king and emperor thus achieved its fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658. The city remains to be a major tourist destination because of its many impressive Mughal-era buildings.
Agra has a lot in store for a visitor. Apart from the Taj Mahal, the Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri are two other UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Jama Masjid, Ram Bagh and Mankameshwar Temple are other sights worth visiting when you arrive in Agra.
